If I told you to close your eyes and picture Washi If I told you to close your eyes and picture Washington in the fall, I guarantee the image you’d see would match the reality of Stephanie & Sara’s elopement day.

To. the. tee.

It was reds.
It was yellows.
It was oranges.
It was lucious larches and hearty hemlocks.
It was a steep-ass hike and mirrored reflections on the lake.
It was almost enough huckleberries to make you sick…

… almost, but not quite.

It was a first look on the banks of the river, where Stephanie & Sara teared up realizing they got to spend the rest of their lives together. Where typically this time of year would bring at least a little rain, they instead got to enjoy the sun’s unseasonable warmth on the water-washed stones.

It was exchanging vows and popping champagne at the alpine lake shore, sipping bubbly while looking out on the surrounding craggy peaks and scree fields. Instead of making the tough decision of who would do the honor of opening the singular bottle, Stephanie & Sara knew the only right answer… one for each of them!

It was white lace dresses draped along ripened ground cover and cliff sides. As they made their way back down the nearly vertical trail, they ventured out onto the sharp drop offs. Heights scare some people, but for Stephanie & Sara, the thrill of dancing so close to the edge elevated an already pretty euphoric day. They whooped, and, wow, did the sound of that joy carry through the basin and beyond.

It was cozy flannels around an evening campfire. Once the hiking was done, it was time to curl up with a tasty charcuterie board and glass of red. It’s hard to think of something as soothing as huddling close with your lover in the crisp fall air… unless it’s the nightcap to a ridiculously perfect wedding day–then, yes, it’s even better.

It was Stephanie & Sara eloping in the exact way they’d dreamt of.

It was love in autumn in Washington, precisely as you’d imagine it…

… and it was magical.

You might be wondering how on earth you’re going You might be wondering how on earth you’re going to see as much of Alaska as you want in such a brief time… it’s huge, right?!

Pro tip: start at a bird’s eye level.

What I mean is, if you want to cover as much ground as possible, you’re going to want to stay above it. Taking a helicopter tour is an incredible way to experience the glaciers, fjords, rivers, sprawling mountain ranges, migrating sea life, and all that Alaska’s landscapes have to offer.

You’re eloping in Alaska… why not make the most of it!

When I think of intentional elopement days, I thin When I think of intentional elopement days, I think of Alina & Joe.

The way they sealed themselves to one another amongst the Redwoods… the way they took their time with each step, looked up at their mother trees and out on their coursing ocean, and dedicated their bodies to the location itself… it was nothing short of deeply moving.

From the forested first look, to the winding motorcycle ride, to the tattoo parlor, to the seaside picnic, Alina & Joe’s day was one for the books.

You know that whole “under-promise, over-deliver You know that whole “under-promise, over-deliver” adage? Yeah, I lean more towards “hear-your-wish, make-it-even-better.” When Tim & Timmie hoped for Mediterranean sunsets and adrenaline, we did it BIG.
